New Panthera Server NOW LIVE - Please Read!!!

Okay guys so our new Panthera server is now live!

Some notes:

This is NOT A PvP OR a PvE Server - this is an "Oh fuck the world's at an end I'm going to do what I have to to survive!" server.

This is an extreme survival server... So, LESS military loot LESS military vehicles.

* PvP is allowed, but DO NOT camp fresh spawns
* Base raiding is allowed
* Base destroying is NOT allowed
* Destroying or stealing vehicles from bases IS allowed (make your base secure!)


Basically, survive!
There ARE bandit AI

There are NOT any missions yet

Note: For the next 24hrs, the server should be considered as a test environment - so please excuse any glitches!

Hey Snow :D

Ahhh I should have posted this but haven't! I'll add a new thread soon, but basically:

* Donor shop - NOT AVAILABLE for the Panthera shop (At the moment, will add some 'low key' stuff soon though!).

* Donor Subscriptions - AVAILABLE - Donating once counts for BOTH servers :) HOWEVER due to the nature of the Panthera server (Survivalist/extreme), the perks have just been toned down a little bit (less ammo etc). Donors still get stuff like a map and a toolbox (so you can make a bike from spawn!) but less ammo and less hi-end gear like GPS stuff.

    - All existing donor subscribers should have been added to the Panthera server, if anyone that donates doesn't spawn in with their gear, let me know and I'll look into it :)

Hope everyone thinks this is fair? :) I considered separate donor subscriptions for Panthera, but I didn't like the idea - So, donate via one subscription and get a donor loadout on BOTH servers :)

Hope that clears it up, but I'll make a new thread just for this soon, so that people know :D

Got some time to start my adventures in Panthera last night and must say it is definitely a breath of fresh air. One aspect that I noticed off balance was the AI. There was at one point, 2 helos flying over one city with upwards of 10 AI on the ground in 2 separate groups within 200 meters of each other. That does not include the infected which makes battling the AI a frustrating endeavor. Someone should have thought out the whole side issue when adding enemy AI to dayz. I enjoy both entities being present on the server and I enjoy the challenge of having to conduct recon for the most beneficial approach angle to prioritize targets and go cover to cover but when ammo is as scarce as it is for new spawns, it makes the task annoying. Especially when the infected only aggro at players.

I would suggest reworking AI waypoints when they spawn in. Have them idle and then when a player is detected, they enter seek and destroy mode for 10 minutes before returning to safe.

OR just reduce the number of infected spawns around AI spawn points. It is a hassle to switch from axe to rifle, quickly,  when your slot numbers are so low.

The only other thing is about the chosen map. Some default buildings are at improper heights and thus potentially can break legs or cause death to players.

So far, not bad though.
